Aiden's Allergy Appointment

I took Aiden to his allergy check up this morning. They did scratch tests to get updates on his current allergies. Surprisingly, dogs and cats are now high (so we will have to see what that means for Brodie and Tucker). We have to put eggs back on his list. We thought we could remove it because his last test showed that the allergy was decreasing but this time it was back up to high again. The following have remained as high:
Chicken
Turkey
Soy
Wheat
Peanuts (moderate)
The doctor would like to challenge the Soy and Wheat since those are found in so many foods. So... we will have to spend two 8 hour days in his office so they can feed him the foods and see what his reaction might be. We also have to research whether or not we want him to start allergy shots. He would have to get the shots once a week for 28 weeks and then monthly after that. We will read our pamphlets we were given to see if this is something that we want to get started on.
He is now on an inhaler each day. They have not labeled him with asthma since he is too young to be tested but they said he is showing signs and will be treated as if he does. He was also given another inhaler for as needed with his coughing.
Though we did not get the best news possible, Aiden was such a great boy through everything. He actually laughed while they were sticking his back. He thought they were trying to tickle him. He was able to follow the directions and use the inhaler properly. We did have to get an adapter for the second inhaler until he can figure that one out.
We are believing that he will grow out of a lot of these allergies and remain a very happy and healthy little boy.

Mommy's Cruise

Stephanie and I took a little vacation last week. We went on a cruise to Mexico without kids or husbands. The company (guests) on the ship was a little questionable but overall we had a great time and were able to relax a lot! We had stops in Progresso and Cozumel and then 2 days at sea. We have taken the kids on the Disney cruise twice now so we decided to try another cruise line for a girls only trip. Disney is definitely top of the line and is hard to compare to other cruise lines but for a cheaper and adult only trip, it was well worth it.

This was left for us by our Stateroom gentleman (housekeeping). This one was clearly an elephant. We are still unclear of his first creation.

Mondays with Papa

Papa normally picks the kids up from school on Mondays. The boys always look forward to their afternoons with him. They spent their time yesterday climbing a tree which meant Papa got his exercise.

Update on Aiden...

For those of you who were wondering...
Aiden has now changed his name back from Hulk Smash to his given name Aiden. Although, he now wants to be Hulk Smash for Halloween. I thought he made up this character... now I have to figure out who this fellow is so he can be him for Halloween.

Ethan's soccer game

Ethan had his 2nd soccer game at 8am on Saturday. I missed his first game due to my cruise. I have come to conclusion that 8am is way too early to start my day at the soccer fields.
He got his first goal and he was so proud of himself. He is a lot more aggresive on the field than we thought he would be. He is doing great and has found another sport that he loves.
Although, when he gets tired of running around, he tends to fall on the ground. One day he is going to get kicked in the head and then realize that is probably not the best place to take a rest. I will have to get pictures at his next game (forgot my camera...).

Aiden's new name...

Aiden informed us last night that his new nickname is "Hulk Smash". He would now like to referred to by this name. We are not sure where he came up with this but he is very serious about it. We tried to change it but he was not having it! So for now... we will be referring to Aiden as "Hulk Smash". We will keep you informed if it changes.

Our sick little Man...

Ethan is finally feeling better! After 6 days of high fever, he is now fever free!! He has missed 4 days of school and his soccer practice and game. I took him in to the Dr. on Saturday. We were told that he had a bad case of the flu. We were given Tamiflu (in a pill formula). I was told all pharmacies are out of the liquid formula. Our main issue was how do we get a 6 year old to swallow a pill??? He would run in the opposite direction when it was time for his medicine.
Last night we caught him up on all of his homework that he missed at school.
Today he returns to his normal life of school and soccer practice.
