Aiden's new name...

Aiden informed us last night that his new nickname is "Hulk Smash". He would now like to referred to by this name. We are not sure where he came up with this but he is very serious about it. We tried to change it but he was not having it! So for now... we will be referring to Aiden as "Hulk Smash". We will keep you informed if it changes.

Our sick little Man...

Ethan is finally feeling better! After 6 days of high fever, he is now fever free!! He has missed 4 days of school and his soccer practice and game. I took him in to the Dr. on Saturday. We were told that he had a bad case of the flu. We were given Tamiflu (in a pill formula). I was told all pharmacies are out of the liquid formula. Our main issue was how do we get a 6 year old to swallow a pill??? He would run in the opposite direction when it was time for his medicine.
Last night we caught him up on all of his homework that he missed at school.
Today he returns to his normal life of school and soccer practice.

Ethan's Birthday party

Ethan had requested a Lego party for his 6th birthday. He loves Legos right now and thinks he can never have too many. We had planned for his party to be at the Children's park but it was rained out. We made a quick decision to change the party to Turkey Creek. Even though it was stressful for me, everything turned out great and the kids loved running around in the rain.

We did not realize we had candles that burn forever!

Daddy had to save the day. I couldn't figure out the lighter!

Ethan opening his presents. He wanted a lego party because he feels you can never have too many legos. His Mommy disagrees!

Aunt Amy purchased a snow leopard in his name. He was very excited!

My Baby is 6!

I can't believe that Ethan is already 6 years old. Where has the time gone...

We had a very rough delivery so to be honest... my first thought was not how beautiful he was or crying with joy that he was here. After looking at him for the first time, my thought was "how did that come out of me???" The first thing the nurse said was "Wow, he looks 10lbs." I think that was when I started crying. I was known around the hospital during my stay as the girl that had that huge baby. After the trauma of the delivery subsided... I will never forget holding him for the first time. I was so amazed at how perfect he was.

He has gotten his own personality (as with all children... some traits we will be working to get through) and he continues to grow and develop into such a wonderful boy. He is so smart and definitely keeps us on out toes with all of his questions. We love our big boy and we are very proud of him! Happy Birthday Ethan!

Friday Night- Eagles football

We went to our first football game of the season. It looks like the Eagles will be winning many games this year. They shut out Choctaw with a score of 48 to zero. (or something close to that). The kids had a great time at the game. The best part was at the end of the game they were able to go out on the field and run all of their energy out. They both fell asleep pretty quickly after their long day!

These were the highlights of the game. The kids loved when the Eagles scored and the boys with the flags came running by. They were able to give high fives!
Then the loved to high five the Eagle and give hugs!

This is Sydney (Ethan's friend). He finally warmed up to the play date. He was very shy at first but obviously not anymore.

GO Eagles!!

Tonight we will be going to our first Niceville Eagles game of the season. We are playing Choctaw (Niceville's rival). We will be meeting Ethan's friend Sydney for the game. He is very excited since he no longer gets to see her at La Petite (they are now going to different schools).
Sydney called to speak with Ethan last night to discuss their playdate (too cute!!). Ethan was very nervous and embarrassed that his Mommy was listening to his conversation. He might have his first crush!!

And tomorrow we are celebrating Ethan's 6th birthday at the Children's Park. We are praying that the rain holds off since it is outside and I have no back up plan.

Pics to follow...

Braves Game

We went to a Braves game while in Atlanta. Ethan was very excited since he started pee wee baseball last spring. He says that he is going to be playing at the Braves stadium when he gets older. I am all for it!!
Ethan made sure to ask Papa a million questions about the game of baseball. I wasn't sure if he was annoying Papa or if Papa was enjoying explaining the game to him.
As you can see in the picture below, Ethan is holding a ball from batting practice. We stood at the outfield wall and yelled for the players to throw us a ball. One of the guys finally looked our way and I waved to get his attention. Thank goodness he threw it very slow and directly to me. I was afraid I would have to fight the other parents for the ball.
So... 12 innings later and the Braves lost by 1 point. We of course had to stay til the very end. Ethan would not have had it any other way.

So proud!!
Playing a quick game in the kids area.

Got a hit!

On third waiting to make it home.

In the 12th inning and he had had enough!

More Pics from ATL

There weren't too many colors to choose from so he rode a pink bike.

Maybe one day he will do my grocery shopping!

ATL- Labor Day

The boys and I took a trip to Atlanta with Nana and Papa for the Labor Day weekend. On Saturday we took the boys to Imagine It. This is a kids dream where they can use their imagination and run wild. (which the boys took full advantage of). Aiden was able to paint on the walls (Something he would never be able to do at home) and also play in the grocery store. These are two of Aiden's favorite things to do. He loves to draw/color and he likes to cook. He got a kitchen set for Christmas last year. It took a while to convince his Daddy that it is ok to get a boy a kitchen set. I made sure that the set was very manly. He now enjoys cooking us breakfast and dinner.
Ethan enjoyed dressing as a bird and running through the tree house with giant eggs. He also spent a lot of time on the crane trying to figure out the best way to get the balls through an obstacle course that was set up.

Ethan played in this tree house for about 45 minutes. I had to drag him out.

Aiden is so happy!! He knows this would never be allowed at home.
